Development issues?

My LO had his 9 month appointment about a week ago and apparently even though he seems perfectly normal and on track to me, the doctor wants some extra monitoring done during this month. We go back at the end of April to recheck everything.

Apparently according to this checklist they gave me, he should be able to already say 3 words (and have them mean something), be able to almost walk along furniture or his crib while standing and holding on, and other things that I thought babies did at their own pace. He JUST started pulling himself up within the last 2 days.

It just makes me worry and feel like I'm not doing enough, even though I thought he was doing ok? Anyone else have something like this?

No! Your baby is not behind and I am mad that a doctor would make you worry. I know 9 month old that aren't crawling. Let alone standing up. And saying 3 words? I dont know of any 9 month old that says any words other than normal baby babble. Babies meet milestones at different times and it definitely doesn't sound like something you need to worry about yet.

Mine was three days away from turning 10 mos at his check up and he's not walking along furniture and he babbles but doesn't know the meaning of anything he says I don't think and his dr had no issues. I had a three page long checklist and walking along furniture actually wasn't even on it. Don't worry. They all progress at their own rate.

Thanks everyone! I feel like he's doing so well. Good to hear that I'm not alone and my doctor might be a little harsh for expecting all of that right now!

My sweet boy is 10 months. He can seriously crawl, pulls up on stuff (occasionally), but hasn't taken a single unassisted step. He can say mama and dada all day long (and usually does) but has zero idea what either mean other than I'm pretty sure he associates dada with happy/fun and mama with sad/needy. They are just babies! They figure different things out at different times. And our doctor thinks he's as perfect as we do. Stupid checklist. Your little one is perfectly amazing!

My lo is 9 months. She can sit, crawl, stand, take small steps, pull up, cruise furniture, hold her bottle/cup, feed herself finger foods, clap, give me high 5, but can only say one word, "dadda" and can't wave hi/bye. 😐

I wouldn't worry and not sure why your doc is. My nephew is 6 weeks older then my daughter, 9 months, and isnt doing any of those things he just started crawling a few weeks ago. While my daughter is doing those things. It just shows you all babies are different. They will all catch up to each other eventually.

At my daughters 9mo appt they asked me a few questions but no survey...my daughter does not crawl yet, she scoots backwards but that's it. She does sit and she loves to stand and try to keep her balance after letting go, she can take steps assisted but none on her own yet. She can pull herself up when she wants too lol. As fast as talking she says dada all the time (although we do think she knows that means her dad bc she says it really loud and happy when he comes home from work), she says mama sometimes and has said ball and fish (well ish for fish)....I'm not super worried about the fact that she's not fully crawling yet bc she's doing so much other stuff and I feel she is almost there and honestly would already be if she did hate tummy time until just recently.

Our son physically has met and surpassed the milestones but verbally hasn't said one word yet at 10 months.... lots of babble and random  sounds. I have become a bit concerned because other friends of mine of babes of same age are saying Dada momma. He looks at us and studies us but doesn't even attempt. It looks like he is absorbing it all and I just get caught up in the rat race of "my baby can do this......" 
I have to remember they are all different and he will learn on his own time.
