Baby Shower

Seriously will someone tell me WHAT is the POINT of an rsvp if people are NEVER courteous and do it. It's so irritating. My mother in law sent out 80 invitations and hardly anyone said anything. Now I have to call everyone to check and see who's coming and who isn't. Same thing happened with my wedding even though we sent out self addressed and stamped envelopes. Grrr
