is it really bad to get an underwire nursing bra?

Unfortunately the only bra I've found to work for me is an underwire bra because I'm measuring at a 32ddd. I've tried on so many and the ones without wire just don't have good support for me. I know they say not to buy an underwire nursing bra but just wondering if anyone has and it's been okay?

Underwire is just fine. I couldn't imagine going back to work with my huge boobs in a bra with no support. I'd be flapping in the wind! I use the wireless ones around the house, but there's no way I can go in public without wire!

I don't wear any nursing bra. I got all my bras at Victoria's Secret.  I got some full coverage ones last week.  Iam a 34DDD and they are really good!

I have an underwire, it's the only way my boobs feel supported. And I'm just a C cup so I can imagine you. I've never heard of it not being ok?

I wore an underwire nursing bra both times and I will with this baby do. It's the only ones that work for me too. I breastfeed for the whole first year and never had problems at all.

I want to say that I don't believe they'd make/sell them if it was bad, but I know that not to be true of the manufacturing industry. 
I can say that my breasts were 32D before, and currently 38DD (before milk) so I have underwire for day, as well as wireless wrap style for sleeping.  The night wrap style is far more comfortable and I've been wearing it as a maternity bra.  I plan to buy more!

It's a recommended thing to wear wire free as it can lead to blocked milk ducts, mastitis,  etc. Google breastfeeding and bras. I'm in F's at the moment so any wire cuts into me. Maternity bras have a different fit. The support comes more from wider shoulder straps, and the aim is to not irritate or interfere with nipple and milk ducts rather than perky boobs. Took me a while to get my head around this though. But they are comfortable in time and I wear free flow tops so shape isn't a big issue that way.

I'm now a 40-42 DD & I'm at 33 weeks....I can't do the underwire anymore, it hurts too much.

It's not bad no, you gotta find what's comfortable and fitting for you! Personally I love wearing wire bras because of support, but I'm also a lot smaller than you are I'm 36c/d and I've found nursing bras with wires are uncomfortable for me which is werid use to be all I wore before kids! For some reason everyone that has a wire cuts into my arm pit!
