c-section?

How do you get planned C-sections? 
Like what do you need to do to get them, is it only for high risk pregnancys etc?

Just talk with your dr. I addressed my concerns with my dr. And discussed the risks and recovery and I was still adamant on having it done. And my dr agreed with my birth plan. You just have to find a dr that will do it. My first son came two weeks early and my dr was on vacation 🤦🏻‍♀️ and the all the drs on that night shift refused to do it and said that they have rights as well and that they don't feel comfortable doing the surgery unless necessary. So I had to wait until the morning shift drs came in and thank god there was a doctor who had absolutely no issue with doing the c section and couldn't believe that the night shift refused to carry out with my birth plan that I had planned since I conceived. So you just have to find the right dr.

Generally they are for mom's carrying multiple babies, who have had a c-section before, or who have a high risk pregnancy.
Most doctors won't typically allow elective c-sections.
They are very major surgery, and with that comes many risks and room for complications.

They should only be for high risk pregnancies due to risks of having major abdominal surgery. Any good ob/surgeon should not be doing elective sections because it truly goes against the hippocratic oath of do no harm.

Some drs allow you to choose csection even if you don't "need" one. None of my drs ever have though. Typically you're 1st is only if it is medically necessary. And then after you've had one out of necessity, for your following pregnancies you have the option of vaginal or csection. Some hospitals and doctors dont do vaginal births after csections. So once you have one, if you want to try a vaginal birth it may be more difficult to find a doctor to take you.

A lot of doctors won't let you have a c section for no reason. But iv been doing a lot of research as I'm requesting a repeat c section, and it does say on nicce guidelines that if the mother really wants a c section she can. They will normally offer counselling and really push you for a normally delivery but if it's something you feel very very strongly about you can get

As someone who has had 2 vaginal births and 1 c section, I would NOT recommend a c section unless it's absolutely medically necessary. The c section recovery was really horrendous for me. I'm 8 months post partum and still sore in my lower belly and have this weird flap of straight skin in my incision area that I didn't have with my vaginal births. I'd rather have a day of labor than to go through weeks of surgery recovery.

Planned c-sections are for women who are having multiple babies, high risk or repeat c-section mommas. I'm having my 3rd c-section May 15th due to being high risk and not being able to give birth naturally. If your body is able to do natural child birth the doctor will not just let you have a c-section.
