Promethazine?

So I've just about tried every over the counter medicine that the doctor suggested and nothing seemed to work. I told me doctor that I was throwing up to much and wasn't able to function at work. She said most people liked Zofran but that was last resort . So she prescribed me Promethazine. Has anyone tried this yet? If yes did it work for you or not?

I stopped throwing up but it literally made me high out of my mind. If you look it up it's actually a sedative and used to be used for patients before surgery.

I was prescribed it last year when I was sick and it worked well for me. I haven't taken it while pregnant, so I dont know how safe it is. But I'm sure if your doc prescribed it, its safe. It should work okay, and I hope it does so you start feeling better!

I haven't taken it while pregnant but was on it for a year before switching to zofran. It worked well for me. I personally got too sleepy on it which is why I switched.

I would NOT take zofran. I have 2 great nieces that have cleft pallets and it is from their mother taking zofran while pregnant.

I would try Zofran first. Zofran is category B while Phenergan (promethazine) is category C. I was put on Phenergan & it didn't touch my sickness at all.

It's a category c medication. It has adverse effects on fetus in animal studies. Carefully research this med. Unless you have Hyperemisis gravidium try every other non medication remedy before taking this med
