so confusing

So me and my boyfriend have been together for almost 4 months about two weeks ago I told him to send me money for lunch because I didn't have any he said he was going to and every time he asks me for something I usually give it to him and in a in beginning of a relationship he used to the Same I know he's going through a financially I honestly didn't have the money to send him right away so he said we just can't count on each other but isn't true so I feel bad and I'm not sure if I should feel bad
