I'm not religious by any means. I don't care what people believe or how they live their lives, to each their own. I'm tired of so many people making everything religion (mostly God). "Things are going bad? Pray to God, he's in control. You can't or haven't gotten pregnant? Pray to God, it'll happen when the time is righ. Good things happen! God is the reason for it. 🙄 Plus so much more! Come on not everyone believes in the same thing, shut up!

Agreed. I'm sick of people shoving it down my throat! I am not going to pray and I don't believe anything is in God's hands.

I'm sorry to hear you feel this way. Having negative experiences with others who are  trying to share their faith with you in a pushy manner is not how it should be. People share their faith because they want others to be comforted and filled with joy and peace as they are. For example, say you just tasted the best dessert you ever had! Now you feel like you just have to share it with someone else so that they too can have the same joy you have!

I am Christian  (a realistic one) and even I find some stuff ridiculous.

I just take it for how it's intended. Even though it can seem pushy and judgy - people who do this have found something that gives their lives significance and joy and they want to share it with you.

Is it tone deaf and obnoxious sometimes? Yeah, definitely.

Does it get annoying? Oh yes.

But fwiw they're just trying to be helpful. I think it's better for my blood pressure to have a small moment of gratitude that someone has taken the time to care about the state of my immortal soul (lol, sounds funny) and whether or not I belong to a faith community than be angry that someone is expressing religious beliefs at me.

Personally though, I keep my beliefs to myself because I understand that not everyone wants to hear it.

I'm religious and active in my church. However, I think everyone should follow the saying God helps those who help themselves. Just my personal beliefs. I believe God puts wonderful things in our path on life but we need to do what we can first. I'll never have all the answers I want in this life, but I'll continue to do my part and help others out where God leads me.

Ikr 🙄 I respect all beliefs and I don't care what people believe in as long as they're not shoving it down my throat. Someone told me the other day to fast cause it's Good Friday like no thanks lol. It's ridiculous when I see people being like "The doctors told me I have like a week to live but I'll pray to God he'll help me" 😂

I guess it depends. If it's a family member, it doesn't bother me cuz I know how much they value their faith and that's just a way they express their love, but just random people that I'm not close to, it's a little off putting. Still doesn't really offend me. I'm agnostic, so I respect all beliefs. It's only when I see people trying to shame others or brain wash so to speak, then I get offended. Some people just don't know how else to express their love and support, so I don't think in that case it should offend anyone or be annoying. I don't even pray or anything cuz I'm not religious, but when people say they'll pray for me, I kind of appreciate it and just think it's nice idk..

You have to realize that most people are religious and when we go through hard times we look to god the same as when helping others, many do not mean anything by it as to shove our religion down your throat

I'm not overly religious but I do believe that my life & the path that I'm on is due to prayer but you will never hear me shoving my religion down your throat. We each have our own religion (or lack thereof) & I believe that it should be left out of conversation unless it is a shared topic.
