Family controversy over baby name

I recently found out I was pregnant. We picked out our baby name for a girl over two years ago. We are wanting to name the middle name after my husbands sister. He discussed with her the first names we have picked out for boy and girl but wanted to keep the middle name a secret when we found out for sure what the baby is as a surprise. We were recently told not to use the name we have picked out even though no one is aware we were using it. She is not currently pregnant. We aren't going to bring it up unless we find out it's a girl. Do I have a right to be upset since she isn't pregnant and already told us we can't use a name?
