When do you think children should start learning Sex Ed?

I'm genuinely curious on your opinions here! I believe it should start no later than 6th grade, maybe 5th, & it become a regular core class that is repeated almost yearly (every year going more in depth). How do you think Sex Ed can be improved in schools?

If they start asking questions at 3 you answer them in an age appropriate way. It's an ongoing conversation and I think if you have waited until 10/11 years old you have waited too long.

I believe you should start teaching children about sex, consent and wrong/right touching as soon as they're able to understand. Make yourself a safe place to come to with questions and concerns at any stage of development.

My nephew just told me he's doing it next week at his school and it's the end of his 5th grade year. I remember doing it in 6th grade but that was many moons ago. I'm glad they're doing it at 5th grade here now (Oklahoma). He's starting to get arm pit hair lol. It's the right time. I just hope they've updated the videos. The one I watched was from the 80s and I watched it in 2006. Surely they've updated it now lmao

I had sex ed in 5th grade. We definitely could handle it and it was good for us. I was curious about it since before that age for sure and was asking my older sister about it so i knew most of it. But i think kids should definitely start learning young. I see most people voted middle school age but we can handle it before then. Also a lot of girls are getting their periods VERY young at high rates and they have a right to understand whats going on with their bodies.
It always made me sad when parents would force their kids to opt out of sex ed (it has to be parent approved/signed off on here)

In 5th grade we learned about our bodies, like periods. Boys had their video to watch, girls had theirs. But sex Ed didn't start until 8th grade which I think most of it was just about STDs and safe sex. Then freshman year was about everything. But I think it should all start at 6th grade. Unfortunately kids have sex at that age now. It's best to just educate them asap wether we like it or not.
