I'm livid!!!

My husband and I were just talking about going and opening a joint banking account that we have been meaning to do but just haven't had time to do. We were married in November last year and we have to have a joint account to cash a few of our checks we received. I told him some may be void now because I think it's been 180 days since we were married and that's when they expired. Some of them were good for a year though. There was about $120 in checks. He just told me since I said some may be void he ripped them up!!! Are you kidding me?!!! We are already financially tight since we go on our honeymoon in 2 weeks! We needed that money!!! Even if it was just $20 of it!! I know it's just money, but money we could have used/ needed!!! I'm so mad!! 😑😠😡😬 Would you be mad/upset?? I mean, it was my money too. We shared that and he just destroyed it.
