Best Baby Cereal?

Question

For those of you that are feeding (or plan to feed) your baby infant cereal, which brand(s) do you prefer? What type of cereal (rice, oatmeal, etc) do you think is best?

Note: I know some people think cereal is bad in general because it's empty calories, is processed, etc. But I'm going to use it, so I would only like to hear from those that have used it or have some knowledge about brand differences.

We feed earths best not with every meal but he likes it :) I choose not to feed any Gerber products all natural and organic only.. I do not trust Nestle Gerber

Also most recommendations you will find will say introducing meat first is best. Animal proteins are also coupled with animal fats, so this is a great and easy way to be sure your baby is getting their iron as well as their fats together. Make sure though to include veggies and fruits. Diversity is important for baby. It's recomended to introduce one item at a time though so it's easier to pick up on any alergies or digestion difficulties. Bland to start and then expand. Again, I'm just figuring out this stuff as we go, and haven't the first hand experience other than with my own diet. As long as your baby is getting the right nutrients and isn't eating overly processed foods that add lots of sugar, you're doing just fine I think. 
These are the suggested items list my doctor gave to me at our last visit. Note: add citrus to any iron rich plant foods to get the most out of them, as well steaming rather than boiling retains more iron.

We use Earth's Bests Oatmeal Cereal. Rice cereal really constipated my 1st so I haven't used it since.

I've been hearings lately that rice cereal is bad due to elevated arsenic levels in rice patties water supplies. This applies to most all rice, less for mountain rice like basmati or jasmine. Also now pediatricians are recomending starting babies on semi lumpy puree instead of nearly liquid cereal. You can even get these fresh food feeders from Munchkin for baby to nibble on say strawberries without actually scheming and swallowing a large piece. I believe the new studies are saying babies need texture to properly develope feeding etc.  I plan to start feeding solids in about a month, and it's really not hard to make some foods with a blender. But I plan to start with quinoa flakes. It's like oatmeal, but it's a full protein and a lot mushyer. Then add in some chia seeds soaked, and introduce some other mashed foods along the way like avocado, squash, banana eventually adding flavoring g and molasses for sweetener. Molasses being high in Iron and babies needing extra iron expecially between 6 and 12 months. Seasonings too, I've been reading should be introduced early -along the way as you expand babies diet- to include their nutritional benefits as well as hopefully detract from later being a fussy eater. Information on child rearing and parenting seems to be changing every day! I too thought rice cereal was a right of passage for babies before I had a child. Now that's all different aparently 😧

As per my baby's dr we started with Earths Best Organic Rice Cereal (semi watery at 1st) now we are on veggies also Earths Best all natural vegan/organic. My baby loves it all and is healthy and happy☺️
