Would you still be with someone if you aren't their preference?

Several months ago, my boyfriend was telling me about his preference and was talking about how he generally prefers older women with experience and their shit together. He is still with me but I am younger than he is (by a year) and am less experienced than he is. Obviously I'm feeling insecure but it's mostly because he said that and he doesn't have it together either but I do and I feel like I have to match up to his preferences even though I'll never be the older more experienced woman. I guess I'm just wondering if I should shake this feeling. Yes, I know he's with me, but is it bad to think maybe he'd want someone else because I'm not his preference?
