Heating pad during TWW?

I'm 8 dpo and 8 more days till AF and started having dull cramps on one side and slight backache! Is it safe to use a heating pad (the type you put in the microwave) on my back and pelvic area? Just read that it might be unsafe to use it during TWW!2
