when to switch to convertible car seat?

My little one is 28 inches and the max on her infant seat is 32.  She still has a way to hit the weight requirement.   But she is getting heavy along with the weight of the car seat.  We have the Graco 4ever Extend2Fit 4 in 1?  Has anyone switched to a convertible car seat yet?  If not, when do you plan to?

We have an infant seat in one car and a convertible in the other, we've used both from birth. Our guy is tiny so we still have plenty of time with the infant seat, but I do prefer the convertible at this point, it's much easier to get him in and out of. He seems very comfortable in both still.

We switched at around 5 months, my daughter wasn't comfortable in her first seat. She loves the convertible car seat!

We switched when Jayden was 6 months in March. The weight capacity for the infant car seat we had was 22 lbs and our son is a hefty boy. When we switched he was almost 19 lbs and it was just to much to keep carrying him around in it lol we bought the Maxi Cosi Pria 85 convertible car seat and love it.

I can't catty mine in his infant seat. I love the convenience but it feels like 50 lbs and leaves bruises on my arms now 😐

I have been wondering the same thing My daughter at almost 8months is 27lbs! And a over 28in I don't even take the seat out of the car anymore I just take her out she's too heavy! I just ordered her seat on Amazon yesterday because she's almost the size of a 1 yr old!

As soon as he could sit in a grocery cart we switched he was so heavy in that infant seat to carry

My son is 6.5 months old and I'm switching this weekend. I just can't carry him in it anymore because it's too heavy for me now. My husband will still use the infant seat though, since he doesn't have a problem with the weight.

I switched a few weeks ago. He's pretty tall so I figured it'd be more comfortable for him. It's also easier to get him in and out. I got him a Chicco key fit. Going to get the graco for my husband's car.
