How offten should my baby kick at 31 week? Shes only been pushed twice since last night im freaking out. Last birth was stillborn at full term...

Hi madalyn I suffered a stillbirth at 28 weeks with my last pregnancy, so I totally get why you are concerned it's hard not to stress. My doctor told me 10 kicks in a two hour time period if you're feeling anxious, but you don't necessarily need to count all day everyday it's more if you are feeling less movement and are concerned. In the end though follow your instincts if something seems off call your doctor especially with your history. I'm 31 weeks and I have been going once a week to the doctor as well! For us that weekly check gives us a 1 in 1000 chance of having another stillbirth, so try not to stress too much!

You should be able to feel 10 movements in two hours of laying still and focusing on nothing but the baby (usually when you are up moving around you can't feel them as well). After one hour of you aren't feeling much you should drink some ice water or juice to see if you can wake them up. If you feel less than 10 rolls, kicks, punches any movements in two hours call your doctor.

Any time your baby is moving less than normal it's important to contact your Dr. Try drinking something sweet and cold and lay on your left side and see if you can feel 10 movements (no matter how big or small) in an hour. If not, call your dr and/or head in to L&D to get checked out!

Lay down in a quiet, restful position and do a kick count. Shouldn't take longer than two hours to feel ten movements. Good luck!
