Tonsillectomy

Hey, everyone! I have a consultation with an ENT doctor on Wednesday for a tonsillectomy. I was wondering what to expect at this consultation, and before/after my surgery! I'm 17, I heard the older you are, the more it sucks. Please send experiences and advice this way! Also, I was diagnosed with mono about a month ago. Do any of you think Would I be in the hospital overnight due to that?
