engaged?💍

I'm 19 , my boyfriend is 26. We've been dating for about a year and other than a little situation we had months ago, we never rly argue or get upset at each other. It's a pretty healthy relationship, overall. Last night he asked me to marry him. It was weird, because of how random it was and he just said "I want to ask u to marry me, but I don't speak fluent Spanish to ask your dad, and I don't have enough money for a ring yet nor do I have a good enough job to give u a place to stay but one day I will" And then after that, he asked me to be his fiancé without a ring. He said that the ring will come just not yet and we can be engaged already if I want to. And I obviously said yes, I love the man and I want to be with him forever. But I'm confused and I'm scared, what if it's an impulse and he regrets it? What if we don't work out how we plan? Is it normal to have these and many other thoughts like these?
