Do you let your baby sleep with stuffed animals/extra blankets?

Question

My 7 month old can't sleep without holding something in his hands/hugging something so bought him a stuffed animal to sleep with. I've read all the books and articles saying that it causes a higher risk for SIDS but other wise he won't go to sleep! We also have a video monitor so we can watch him.

Once my baby started being able to pick his head up and roll over freely I started letting him sleep with his cuddle toys. He doesn't have a pacifier and he doesn't suck his thumb so it's his soother. Worked wonders once we stopped co sleeping. When he wakes up at night he just finds it and goes right back to sleep.

My son can't sleep without holding something either! But he really prefers sleeping with stuff touching his face, stuffed animal or blanket. So we keep the stuffed animal small and the blanket light.

My doctor said that at 9 months she can sleep with a small stuffed animal or blanket. My daughter has about 6 lovies (animal head blanket bottom) so I'll be curious to see which she chooses

We let my son sleep with his monkey at about 6 months old. It helped him with separation anxiety so much.

Used to be nothing except her binky. Now she's almost 13 months and I put a light blanket on her at night. I started doing that a little after a year old. Before that, nothing though.

As soon as my daughter started rolling and we had to break the swaddle (around 5 months), we always put a blankie in there with her and she loves it. One thing we did do though was layed her in our bed and covered her completely with a blanket and watched how long it took her to pull it off. We kind of practiced with her so we'd feel okay about it and she never had any problems.

My 8 month old is the same. Inlet him fall asleep holding a thin swaddling blanket, then when he's asleep, I take it way. He's also got what we call spit-bear. It's a little stuffed hear on the top half and a little blanket on the bottom. It's not very big. I'll let him go a little longer with that. But I always take everything from him at some point.
