cervix check?

Can I refuse to have my cervix checked to see if I'm dilated at my last appointment which is when I'm going to be 39+5? I just don't want to know if I'm dilated or not. Or do they HAVE to check?

They really would like to just check your progress. It helps them monitor and determine things concerning your labor but you can still refuse it. Or you can just tell them you don't wanna know and to just do it and put it in the chart without telling you. Up to you!
