Possibly Getting Induced Friday: Tips/Stories?

Due to my health and several other concerns and reasons my husband and I are faced with a decision. We can either induce Friday, my original due date, or wait and see what happens. BUT my health has been declining and I'm tiny so baby has been out of room for a while and causing me great pain along with being deathly ill. I think we've decided to induce but I'm nervous about it and my in laws are adamantly against it. What are some induction tips or positive stories you ladies might have to better prepare this first time momma?
