Sex Position

Last night my boyfriend and I did doggy style and I actually was really interested in trying it again (We've done it before and it's been awhile since we have) but we haven't had sex in a while and it hurt so bad. Like I want to be able to enjoy that position. I think it also feels really weird to me, it gives me a different type of feeling (in a weird way). Am I the only one?
