scary thing to wake up to

This morning I woke up. (27 weeks today) I went to the bathroom, and as I wiped I noticed some blood. It wasn't heavy and only when I wiped. It wasn't very dark so I got up got my daughter ready for daycare and my husband up (had to wait for my dr office to open). I called my dr and she asked if we had had intercourse recent and I said no. The baby wasn't moving much. I was panicking but baby's definitely moving around now and the bleeding has stopped. But it was terrifying! Has anyone else had this happen to them were they randomly spotted at the start of their third trimester?
