Down syndrome screening yes or no?

Question

How many of you are opting to take the Down syndrome screening? The fact of false positives scare me. I took it with my first son, but I'm hesistant to take it with this baby. Anyone thoughts if they are or aren't taking it?

And how many weeks along did you take the test? I cannot for the life of me remember how far I was with my last pregnancy when I took it

I took it when I was pregnant with my daughter. It honestly helped to easy my mind when it came back on the lower side of the scale but if my chances were higher I would've have had more time to prepare myself mentally n get the education needed instead of just waiting until she was born to find that out

We opted out of it. My doctor didn't recommend it, for the false positive results, and because I'm a healthy 27 year old, he said the risks were low. Not to mention. I live in a country where abortions are hard to get, so we couldn't have easily terminated if anything was wrong. We just waited for the NT scan at 12 weeks to see anything. It was all fine.

Nope, I've seen too many false positives wreck moms for entire pregnancies.

No way.  Too many false positives either lead to mom's aborting babies or stressing and having miserable pregnancies !

If having a baby with Down syndrome doesn't bother you then I wouldn't. I don't care if I have a kid with downs so I don't take the test.

I didn't do it. I knew either way I would love my baby the same so it wasn't something I felt was necessary.

i just  took mines last week im just waiting on the results but my doctor  said  the baby was fine and healthy just wanted to  make sure

I did it so we'd be prepared with information and any changes we'd have to make etc if it came back positive. 
But if it doesn't bother you either way then no one can tell you that you HAVE to do it.

I didn't get it done I would be happy either way. I also didn't want to be stressing about the results if there was a high chance.
