What is the point of the glucose test?

I'm scheduled to take mine my next doc appointment in a couple weeks, but my doc didn't tell me why.. what is it testing? I chose fruit punch flavor 😛 and have read on here more than once that that flavor is no bueno

To test for gestational diabetes

It's a standard test towards the 3rd trimester, it's a  pre screening for gestational diabetes, which is a condition in which your pancreas is being effected by 3rd trimester hormonal surges that can cause your body to not process sugar properly. If you have GD, excess sugar will dump into your placenta and effect the baby. If you don't pass the 1 hour test then you'll do a 3 hour test  (it's easier to pass the 3 hour test). If you fail the 3 hr test then they'll have you monitor your sugar levels at home with finger prick tests until you have the baby and you'll need to lower your carbs and sugars. I've had GD 2 of my 3 pregnancies and both times I just changed my diet and babies were fine.

I don't find them that bad. I have only had orange one. Tasted like sugary flat orange soda. Just drink it in 5 min and hour later they test your blood to test your sugar level. Not bad at all. If u don't eat a lot of sugar u may get a headache. That was only part that sucked for me.

It's to see if you have gesteional diabetes. It's going to check your overall blood sugars and different items that affect your overall sugar
