Is Getting Pregnant at Age 18-20 OK?

I know a lot of young ladies in my school are having children. They're excited and doing everything right. I'm late on my AF, but I wouldn't mind being a mom.. just feel kinda shook at the moment..

There's a right time for everyone and it all depends on the person some people want to start their family young for instance me I have 2 children and I'm 23 a lot of people judged me but it was right for me where as some people would wait. Just because someone else is doing it makes it right for u. U do what right for ur life.

Its hard, I'm 19 and I wouldn't trade it for the world however it is hard! Just make sure your income is good and I'd say you can never be prepared for a child! You just kinda get thrown into it

I got pregnant with my son at 19, had him at 20. Things turned out amazing for me.  It really just depends on how well you can take care of a baby at any age.

If YOU feel you can handle a baby at your age and can support them financially and have the mentality and patience for a baby then by all means go for it. Your SO should also be on the same page. And ALWAYS, ALWAYS be prepared if you become a single mother you don't know what the future holds think of all the pros and cons of having a baby. Writing things out can help a lot too so you can physically see the good and the bad things that may happen

I said no because I got pregnant at 19 & turned 20 when my baby was a month old. Financially, it is a huge exhausting struggle that makes you feel like you're not good enough. My husband constantly works & goes to college so we never ever see each other so that puts a strain on our relationship. & im constantly around my baby in the house & that puts a strain on me & my baby's relationship. It gets depressing at times. You get upset at the baby or at your SO. It's exhausting. we didn't have food in the house for months because we had to bills & gas to get to work & baby stuff. If you live at home it'll be significantly easier. Still tough, but financially (unless your parents aren't able to even take care of themselves) it's a bit easier.

I do think age matters but then again I don't. Everyone is different.... I probally could have raised a child at 18 but I feel like the younger you are the harder it is. Like still being in school & trying to work and if you want to go to collage.. So it depends on if your ready for that commitment. And ready for a Physically, mentally and emotionally change in your life. A steady income & a safe place to live would be a good thing too. But like I said everything is up to you & when you feel ready. Good luck!

I mean honestly you can do it but it's not going to be easy. Babies and kids re super expensive and it means you will be giving up a lot of your childhood. I am so thankful I waited. I am 29 and pregnant now. I would have been find any time after 25 if I would have been in a relationship like I am now. If your not  get on birth control and be safe until your older and have had your fun

It can be done, but I will say wait. Think of all the things you would like to do--career or school goals, ambitions, travel, even just having fun road trips with friends.havinf children will make all of those things a LOT harder. Children can be a blessing, but they're not a replacement for a sense of purpose. I think it's better for them and us if we wait until we are a little more settled and older :)
