am I being selfish?

My baby's father left me he said he didn't love me.. so I decided not to have a babyshower it's hard enjoying my pregnancy with this emotional stress he left me with, he's the one who wanted me to get pregnant.. and one of my reasons is money wise I want to save as much as I can just in case he doesn't give me later on for my baby is it selfish of me not to throw a babyshower?

My husband and I haven't been on the greatest terms either. One of our fights escalated and I ended up leaving our apartment with all my stuff and left him with everything else. His family wouldn't talk to me which I didn't care. I had the support of my family. That huge fight took excitement from my pregnancy, I of course love my baby. I'm 7 months pregnant and still don't want a baby shower or to buy anything since I'm not working either. I don't think it's selfish. I just know I wouldn't enjoy it if I have one.

I understand that you're going through a tough time but if anything a baby shower will help you get things for your baby..thank of it as being a gift for you and your baby...just don't invite anyone who's being rude to you

I understand what you're feeling but you could ask someone to host it for you. A friend or family member and they could have some little finger foods and a cake and that'll give you a chance to see how many people care for you and your baby. You'll feel loved and happy because of the support you have... and have some games too! It should be fun!

A shower can be a great way of getting love and support from the people in your life.  The best shower I went to was very low key, she had it at her mom's house at 2pm with just desserts and little appetizers, we all had a great time!  Ask your close friends and family to bring something and host your own or ask someone to have it at their place.

Have you thought of asking someone to host it for you? That way you can save money by getting things gifted to you. I paid for my shower, but I heard that most hostesses pay for it for the mommy to be!
