confusedddd

i'm on the birth control pill, have been for about 7 years now, I started this pack one day late, i'm supposed to start my period in 4 days but have been spotting off and on lightly for a week and I don't know what it could be from. I've googled some things but google makes me feel panicky and like more is wrong w me than there really is lol, so i'm just wondering if anyone else has ever gone through this!
