****got an iud almost two weeks ago...is this normal!?!

So I have been having bad cramps since last night and today they have been unbearable to the point where I'm almost in tears. I decided to take a shower to see if it would help with the cramping and I passed this clot or whatever while I was shaving my legs and then I got out of the shower and went to use the bathroom and I see all of this on my toilet paper.. what could it be??? Is this normal!?

It'a normal but to be sure call your OB and let them know what going on. I had terrible cramping but I didn't pass clots that big.

I've had Mirena for 5 years and I never had anything like that happen after it was put in. I had mild cramping but I didn't pass anything, I didn't even have my period for the entire 5 years I had it in. I would definitely contact your OB

My sister bled for 3 weeks straight after her iud was put in. She finally went to the doctor and they had to adjust it as it was in wrong. Once they fixed it she didn't have a problem. Good luck!

I have had the Mirena and the Paraguard, for a total of about 9 years altogether. I never had extreme pain or cramping (or really any pain) after insertion, and I never had any heavy bleeding or clotting. I would call the doctor back and see if you can go back in to make sure everything is where it's supposed to be.
