My mom won't treat me like I'm 16???

I don't know why she treats me like I'm 7. A couple years ago I did go through a rough patch but I think I've gone above and beyond to show her I've grown up. My boyfriends parents think both him and I have grown up a lot since that happened, but my mom has me on a curfew of 6pm. Won't drive me somewhere more than 1 time per week. And recently my boyfriend got his license and she's always saying she wished he had it (before he did get it) so he picked me up from crossfit. She got mad at me and I apologized. Except she's not letting him drive me to school, only back to crossfit. Except he wants to take me for lunches and drive me to and from school (my bus driver is a not so nice man).

I mean I know I did bad things in the past, but compared to most teens they weren't that bad!! I'm sick of being treated like a 7 year old, I'm 16 and she doesn't realize I don't want to live like this!

For example:

Im NOT ALLOWED to do my own laundry, she thinks I'll break the washer

I legit am not allowed out past 6 pm most of the time.

I've tried showing her how responsible I am by coming home before curfew (5-10 minutes), keeping my grades up, and doing all the chores she does give me... I'm getting kind of fed up since I don't drink, smoke or skip/flunk classes. I just don't want to ride the bus and wanted to be treated like a young adult.

Have you tried talking to her? Talk to her, let her know you're 16 and are doing your best to show her you are responsible and you've changed. Be calm when you do talk to her. Maybe, tell her to let you finish saying all you need to say before she speaks.

My dad was exact same way. Only I NEVER got in trouble. I never once in my life had detention or got held after class, I got good grades, I never smoke or drank or did drugs, I never hung out with people who did, I didn't have sex, was always home when I was supposed to be.

And he still treated me like I was a child. He still treated me like I was stupid and couldn't handle anything by myself. It drove me absolutely nuts. It destroyed our relationship. I still resent him to this very day (I'm 22) and it made my life soooo much more difficult. He was so overprotective that I didn't get to do anything that other kids were doing. I didn't learn how to be on my own because he never even let me try. He did everything for me; never let me try to figure it out for myself 😡

If she doesn't listen when you talk to her, then literally the only thing you can do is tolerate it until you are 18 and can leave. It sucks. Just try to hang in there
