IUD after giving birth?

I had Mirena prior to TTC, and the insertion was very painful/uncomfortable, but I was happy with this as my BC method afterwards. I had never given birth at that time, and was told it's less painful after. Has anyone else had and IUD inserted before and or after delivery? If so, how painful was it?

I had one before birth and the insertion was TERRIBLE, then I got one after, and barely felt it. It was like super minor period cramps. The speculum felt worse than the actual insertion. Way easier after you've had a baby.

I didn't have one before but the one I got after just gave me bad period cramps for like a day.

I got mine inserted for the first time after I gave birth. The insertion n cramps hurt like a bitch. I would take Tylenol n put on a pad/panty liner bc u may bleed. Had it since feb n my period is finally becoming regular (had my first one at 5weeks pp) but the cramps r now unbearable
