Birth Control Issues

So last year I was on birth control for 9 months and it was an emotional rollercoaster! I was so depressed and angry at everything so I got off of it. Now that my boyfrjend and I are sexually active I was thinking about  etting back on it but I'm so scared that whatever kind I chose I'm going to get depressed again. Help please! I dont want to get pregnant but I also don't want to be sad all the time.
