Nexplanon Implant Question

I got the Implant 3 months ago, and recently went in for break through bleeding, while I was there my gynecologist did an exam and informed me that there was a hole in my cervix. As far as I know this hole wasn't there before I got the Implant, because I also had an examine 3 weeks before I got the Implant inserted also due to break through bleeding from stopping my birth control patch the month before, and there was no mention of a hole in my cervix at that time. Has anyone else experienced this? Or know anyone who has experienced this? Because I'm really concerned. They are talking about cauterizing my cervix to close the hole. And the bleeding has gotten a lot heavier and has now turned into postcoital bleeding since my exam 2 weeks ago.
