Was wondering if y'all can share your experiences with the depo shot?

I'm thinking about choosing the depo shot as a form of birth control. I've heard that it causes you to have difficulty to have children once you're off of it.

I took mine several times a few years ago and I felt terrible.. If it was a side effect, I got it times ten!

I had three shots in 2015 and was fine. No effects. But In 2016 I got the shot once and it fucked up my periods so bad. And it's been a year now with no luck concieveing

I was 3 shots in and bled everyday day for about 3 months. Frustrated from constantly ruining my underwear and not being able to be intimate I went to the ER and the only thing they could tell me was that maybe my body was still adjusting. Went back to the health department where I was receiving my shot and ended up having to switch back to the pill.

I was sick for three straight months and it took my body a very long time to regulate itself when I was done. And I only had 1 shot.

This isn't my experience, it's my friends. But she was on the depo shot regularly for like more than a year. Then she stopped getting her shots (pure laziness she says), it took 8 months for her period to return and when it did it was the period from hell.
