sore boobs?

Okay ladies: so I know that sometimes before a period your boobs can be sore/tender...mine have been like this the past week but I'm not supposed to start for another week. I'm on the pill and have taken them consistently so I'm not worried about pregnancy but I'm just kind of concerned because I've never expierenced this before
