std/sti checks

okay, I'm nervous. I want to go to my doctor to get checked for pretty much anything I could be at risk for. but I'm nervous. ik that she is only there to help and make sure I stay healthy, but I'm nervous about what will happen if there is something I need to worry about.

my current partner has been my only sexual partner, and he only had one before me. his previous partner was a virgin at the time, and so was he. he was my first and I'm pretty sure I'm clean. I also know it's better to be safe than sorry.... but I'm squeamish of people looking down there... I feel like if I have her check me for stuff that I won't want to go back because it gets awkward....

can anyone give me advise...?
