Car seat help! Is this newborn insert important?

For the record, I realized it was upside down after taking the picture. lol first time mom here. I need to know if i can take the insert out to wash it if i need to go somewhere? Is it necessary or can I leave it out then put it back in later?

I would leave it in for head support. At least till they are about 3 months they can't control their neck. You don't want their neck being jerked around in the car.

Because your daughter is still tiny it's recommended to have it in there until she's at least 7lbs. She is so darling though! God bless ❤️

She's so cute, I didn't use a infant insert in my car seat, I just took two receiving blankets and rolled them up and put on each side of him. 
Unless it came with the car seat it will void any warranty on the car seat if ever in an accident.
It's completely up to you if you want to use one or not, whatever you're comfortable with

I didn't use one with either of my kids but when I needed to wash something pertaining to their seat I would always do it at night on quick wash.

Car Seats for the Littles Facebook page told me any removable padding in a car seat doesn't have to be used as long as baby fits properly without it.
