Inducing question

So I'm a FTM and tomorrow evening I go in to be induced. I'm just curious as to how all of that happens? I know they're giving me some sort of medicine to see if that starts labor.. how long will that take? And if it doesn't work what will they do? He told me it could take a couple days for me to go into labor but he said he wouldn't let me go too long so we'd have to do a c section. I'm sort of nervous but I'm way more excited to meet my boy. Did anyone have complications with inducing or did it work well for you?
