Trying to be more responsible

So I'm thinking about starting birth control. My boyfriend and I have been together for 4 years and I want to be more responsible when we have sex. We use condoms every time but he feels that they are not that reliable. He just graduated from college and will be starting a job soon. There is no time for kids on our schedule right now. I'm wondering what the best birth control for me would be. I've been on the pills before but I used those for acne. I don't want an implant but I'm wondering what you guys think.
