any uk mums out there??

Question

My teeth/gums have been hurting the past week and my midwife said to go to the dentist but she didn't give me a proof for them that I'm pregnant.. I will be 11 weeks.. 
will they take my word for it?? I really need them seen to can't go on any longer..

Hiya UK here 
You need to apply for your nhs exemption certificate or your MATB1 form.
The doctor or midwife needs to sign the NHS exemption form and a MATB1 form cannot be issued before 20 weeks. Unfortunately because you are still early they might not issue either just yet. Might be best to talk to you gp. However you still need to mention to the dentist you are pregnant due to certain percedures. Hope this helps

You shouldn't need "proof" for a dentist, just tell them you're in early pregnancy and they won't take X-rays, but will get you a cleaning.
Cleanings are highly recommended during pregnancy!
The dentist may be able to recommend some things that are safe during pregnancy also to help with gun irritation.

All about the NHS exemption form to get a card. I just got mine in the post but you can always ask your midwife for a form and send it quick time! You just show them that and they will not charge you.

If you're desperate, you can pay them and then show your card and they'll refund you. I just waited 👍🏼 xx

I went to a debtist reguly from 6 wks through to 20 weeks and i just used my blue notes as proof. Mine were fine they may accept this. If not get a copy of your acceptance maternity letter this will proove pregnancy
