early pregnancy testing

I'm supposed to start my period in five days. I have sore boobs, lower stomach pains, nausea but I haven't thrown up and I had diarrhea the other day. I took a test today and it was negative is it still too early to get a false result? Just curious, I'm still new to everything. Also, I normally do not get sore boobs or stomach pains before my period. Normally just lower back pain.
