I would say get one because its so great but buy it used. There are plenty of used ones still in good condition. 
It takes up way less space than most swings and does many more movements. The car ride option is the best!

We got our used and it's god send. She didn't love it at first, now she does, and it doesn't take up as much room as her other swing. And fits in the car for when we are traveling.

I have 3 kids and bought it for my 3rd, she hated it. It's expensive and not cozy in my opinion. She loved her bothers' snugubunny swing though. Just make sure you can return it, we didn't buy ours until after she was born so we just took it back.

I've had mine through 2 babies now, and neither one has like it at all. It didn't have enough motion for them and they both prefered the swing.

I got it for my first child and he didn't not like it at all he would fuss every time he's in it, but as soon as I put him in the other one I got that's called the simple sway baby swing OMG he did not fuss one bit he loves it I think cause it can swing side to side and back and forth the mamaroo just goes side to side

I found that it wasn't any greater than a simple swing. My daughter would sit in it while I did other stuff but she never really "loved" it and it wasn't a necessity. She outgrew it by 6 months (95th percentile baby).
