uterine pain

I started having some bad uterine pain today and it has lasted consistently for about 7 hours now. It is sharp, pinching pain in my lower abdomen that feels like it's associated with my uterus (I think). This pain flares up when I move. Anyone who has had implantation pain, does this sound similar? Has anyone felt this whatsoever? It almost reminds me of what sounds to be an ovarian cyst or something. I'm waiting to see what happens with my period in the next few days, and go to a gynecologist if I need to!
