Gross period question

I have noticed that while on my period there is a gooey clear stuff I call it egg white because that's what it seems like. I find it when I wipe and sometimes there is blood clots with it they can stretch and we'll it's gross. I only have it around my period. Anyone know what this is or why there is so much?
