what can I expect with IVF?

My question is mostly about timing but any other advice/stories would be appreciated :) I have thing PCOS and my husband has low morphology. Our RE seemed to think IUI could work but after two rounds we are moving onto IVF. How long did your cycle take from day 3 work to transfer?

It will take about a month from start to finish if you do a fresh transfer. I ended up getting OHSS and did a frozen transfer the next cycle and I'm almost 10 weeks now. Be prepared to have appointments almost everyday and dates change pretty often. Do the best you can to not stress and relax whenever you can. Write down when you take your meds because since it's so repetitive, sometimes I thought I had already done it and didn't which freaked me out so I just wrote everything down. Eat healthy and take you prenatal vitamins. Good luck to you!

We started in January, had egg retrieval in March. Frozen transfer in April and I'm now 6 weeks pregnant :)

I was lucky in that my period started the day before my consult w/ the RE, so I was able to get my labs drawn that day and also start on BCP right away. BCP for about 2 weeks, a baseline ultrasound, and then about two weeks of stims before retrieval.

It seems women with lots of eggs (incl. PCOS) don't have to be on stims as long, maybe 10 days, but I've got low reserves so it was about 14 for me.

After retrieval many clinics wait 5 or 6 days for the embryos to grow to blastocyst stage, and then transfer or freeze at that point. Some places will give you the option of transferring at Day 3 instead.

My first round I had 3 embryos and froze them to wait for PGS results. If we had been able to transfer any of those it would have been about 2 months from Day 3 blood work to the first beta. Best of luck to you! ❤️

I started stims on April 28, had my first bloodwork and ultrasound on May 1....not enough stims. They upped me and then I ended up triggering on May 9 (11 days of atoms and trigger the next night). They only got 7 of my eggs and the rest were hiding behind a tangle of blood vessels (7 of them). All were mature.

The next day they called to say 6 had fertilized with ICSI. In day 3, 5 were rated good and 1 was fair. On transfer day (day 5, May 16), we froze 3 and transferred 2. They were rated 5A/A- and 5A-/A-. The other embryo didn't progress after day 3.

The beta is on May 26 (10dp5dt) but I had bloodwork yesterday to check estrogen and progesterone. I am doing my estrogen pills vaginally now and am taking 2mL of progesterone oil injections.

We did egg retrieval last April with a frozen transfer in June due to hypertim as well. I have minor pcos and hubby with low numbers. The whole egg retrieval process was about 14 days worth of daily shots and every other day appointments. Then frozen transfer was 20 days worth of multiple shots and continuing shots after my confirmed pregnancy until I was 12 weeks. The whole process is a bit overwhelming but so rewarding. I now have a beautiful 3 month old son and his 5 siblings-4 boys and 1 girl-are waiting in storage! 👶🏼💙💗

I did ICSI and I only have one Fallopian tube and have endometriosis. My husbands sperm count is also low.
