Have I put my baby at risk?

So I didn't know I was pregnant until I was about 7wks, and didn't get it confirmed until 8wks5ds. I wasnt able to buy prenatals until the day it was confirmed (living out of town and having to work around my MIL schedule is a pain. Hubby is in the process of getting his license). But I'm worried that not taking prenatals early on may have hurt my baby.

My husband and I weren't ttc so I didnt think to get them beforehand. It's probably okay since I'm taking them now, but what do you lovely ladies think?

I haven't taken them my whole pregnancy! they made me real poorly, my baby is healthy :) x

Prenatal vitamins are pretty new thing since with every generation it seems like people care less and less about what they put in their mouth. My mom, my aunt and grandma never took them and everyone turned out healthy. I would say there is nothing to worry about. Baby will suck whatever nutrients it needs from you, that's why some call it a parasite.

I didn't start taking them til I was about 11 weeks. The folic acid helps by replenishing yours since the baby takes it and keeps you healthy and prenatal will lower the risk of any abnormalities or issues with your growing baby

Prenatal are for your health not the babies. The baby will take everything they can get. All prenatal do is ensure that you have enough in your system for yourself as well. They will check your levels throughout the pregnancy to make sure your vitamin levels are good

I wasn't able to take prenatals my whole pregnancy, I took them for about two weeks and then my body wasn't able to handle them and I'm now 38 weeks so I think you are okay if you are able to take them now. :)

I read that folic acid works best at preventing neural issues of you take it at least a month before getting pregnant. I didn't find out I was pregnant with my daughter until 8 weeks and then started taking prenatals so I've been in the same boat.

You're just fine. A lot of women don't take them at all, or only take them when they remember. The baby will take everything it needs, the prenatals are to be sure there's enough left for you.
