Not opening gifts at baby shower

Do you ladies this it is rude to open gifts at a baby shower ? We are having about 60 people at our shower because it's a Co Ed shower. We are also having it starting at 5-6pm so it's like a sunset theme and it's not super hott. We're in fl. I don't mind opening gifts. I thought maybe opening the personal gifts like from my mother and mother in law as well as if someone is like I'd like for you to open my gift. What do you think ?
