It was worth it to us because we knew there was a chance that my son would not live long.  He was stillborn so that DVD is priceless to us.  We get to watch him swimming around and smiling.  It's the only chance we ever got to experience that with him.

for me mine was worth it. got it done at 8 weeks bc at my docs office they don't do your first one til 12 weeks. definitely made me feel good especially my first time ever being pregnant

I got a dating ultrasound at 9 weeks, NT scan at 13 weeks (which is technically elective) and an anatomy scan at 19 weeks but then I wasn't going to get anymore since I'm not high risk and baby was growing fine. I chose to get 4D scan package at 28 and 33 weeks just to see my baby. I'd say it was worth it my peace of mind and also seeing what my baby would look like.

I wouldn't have an extra one done at my doctors because mine cost over $300 with insurance. I did one early at 12 weeks at a "ultrasound boutique." I was really pleased with the images and it was under $50. :) We ended up doing another session at 16 weeks for a gender reveal.
