Membrane Sweep - Did it help you induce labor?

Question

Curious how effective a membrane sweep is for inducing labor. Yes I know it doesn't always work, but just curious how it's worked out for everyone. Please comment as well.

I said didn't work because it didn't start contractions. What it did do is rupture my membranes without contractions, which started the cascade of interventions...pitocin and continuous fetal monitoring, epidural, and only 1 hour from a c section when I eventually gave birth.  I told my new OB that I didn't want him stripping membranes unless I was very overdue. He agreed. So, works for some, but definitely had some risks.
