water breaking ?🤔

Im a FTM and have no idea what i should be looking for when the water breaks. With all five of my mom's pregnancies her water bag never broke because she had a thick lining soooooo.... 
1) do you feel pressure or anything right before it happens ? 
2) how do you know the difference between that and peeing yourself ? Lol
3) do contractions start immediately after ?
4) where you doing something when it happened or can it break at any time ?

For me it felt like a water ballon broke between my legs. It was a warm gross feeling like I peed myself. I did feel what can only be described as a "pop" and it was A LOT! It wasn't a trickle it was a ton.

I had mine broken at the hospital but it was way more than it would be if I was peeing myself. They said I actually had a lot more water than they usually see at 40 weeks. I was already having regular contractions but couldn't feel them at all until shortly after my water was broken.

Mine just felt like a warm small gush of water. Nothing like I imagined, nothing like in the movies. I did at first think I just needed to go to the bathroom. After using the bathroom I was still leaking and realized that it was defiantly not pee. Lol You can not stop it from coming out like you can pee. There were no warning signs before it happened I was at work at my desk.

I didn't feel pressure I was sleeping woke up rolled and felt a gush. Got up went to the toilet it gushed uncontrollably and soaked everything and happened again so I just knew. I never naturally contracted so they induced them with pitocin.

I've had my water break both times. Both times, I had my first real painful contraction and the pressure just kept building until the end of the contraction and I felt a big pop and fluid gushed out. I was in bed sleeping both times when the contraction woke me up. I waddled to the toilet and the fluid just poured out, for me it was unmistakable that it was my water and not urine. And my labor progressed pretty rapidly from that point. I continued to have contractions and I know I was fully dilated within 5 hours with my first (not sure about my second because I got my repeat c section about an hour after they last checked me I was at 6 cm then, roughly 2 hours after my water broke).

With my first I was laying in bed and thought I needed to pee so I got up and just got on the toilet when my waters broke. It was a big gush, it went everywhere and I didn't have any leaking after that

For me they have only broken on their own once (baby #2) I had one contraction then got up to go and pee and as soon as I stood up it was like a balloon of water had popped and it went everywhere. I was soaked! Went to have a shower and contractions were thick and fast. It's like that for all of my labours though. Once my water breaks it's go time!

Out of 5 kids my waters only broke with 1 kid. I was nesting and went to sit down when i felt a "pop" i felt wet. I went upstairs to the bathroom thinking i just peed myself. I changed and put a pad on. Stood up and started walking downstairs. Thats when more came leaking out. I never had the huge gush. It was more like a constant feeling off peeing yourself. There was no symptoms to make me believe it was going to happen and within 10 minutes my contractions had came pretty heavy. I had to call 911 for a ride due to everyone being out of town. The whole ride sucked. Bumpy and contractions Dont mix. Every bump caused more fluid to come out.

Water breaking can be a large gush or a very small amount. It can happen before labor begins (PROM) or at any time during labor. Amniotic fluid smells sweet. If you're unsure the only way to know is to get the fluid tested.

Mine broke with my first when I changed positions on the sofa. I didn't feel a pop or pressure but some how I could tell it wasn't pee. It was a very, very small leak. I sat on a sheet for 30 minutes and when I got up there was a spot the size of a quarter. I was not in labor. I went to the hospital to get checked and it was amniotic fluid. I was GBS positive so my midwife recommended induction.
