Do You Consider Antisocial A Bad Thing Usually?

I've been called antisocial at least ten times within the past week. But I don't look at it as a bad thing. I'm keeping to myself, not in any trouble/drama, concentrating on my child and my education and not here for the BS that anybody throws at me. Aside from psychologically speaking, are there instances where you think it could be a bad thing when bad behaviors dont result from it? I say leave me the hell alone and there won't be a problem 🤷🏽‍♀️ lol

There's a difference between truly antisocial and what you're describing, which is asocial.

Antisocial is along the lines of a personality disorder. There's literally one called Antisocial Personality Disorder. People with it are also known as sociopaths and psychopaths in common terminology. Antisocial behavior is actually when you actively do things to harm others, fuck everything up for kicks (arson, vandalism, etc), and just have no regard for anyone else.

As for being asocial, it's up to you if it's bad. I'm pretty asocial myself, but I'm a misanthropist. If you feel comfortable not having a lot of friendships and the like (honestly I understand that completely, less bullshit to deal with), more power to you. Focus on you and your life.

I go back and forth between being super outgoing and antisocial. Tonight I'm alone in my basement playing The Sims, loving my along time. I love going out with friends a lot though. The type of antisocial where you just hate people is not good. But just keeping to yourself sometimes isn't bad.

Yes, being ANTIsocial is not a good thing. Being asocial, which is what it sounds like you're describing, is not entirely bad. It just depends on the level to which you're asocial. You're probably just an introvert and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

I only seek out my friends when I feel like being social, or hang out with them when I want to. Otherwise, I know I'll just be a total mope. I have to WANT to socialize.
